The Book of Job

“I think Rene Girard will be appreciated as a kind of Church Father in the centuries to come. His ideas will shake your world,” says Bishop Robert Barron at the opening of his brief video introduction to Girard’s life and ideas.

This course introduces you to Rene Girard and his revolutionary ideas, with a particular emphasis on scapegoating as the satanic mechanism that keeps us enslaved to sin. We think we know all about the Book of Job, but are we sure? Could we be wrong? Girard’s bright light reveals things we have never seen before in the Book of Job and our own world too. Join us and read Job in a way that reveals evil’s mechanisms, then helps us escape its traps and bring the Kingdom of God into our world.
