10 Easy Ways to be Green

  1. Do not use straws, or use earth-friendly straws. Littered areas almost always have straws!

  2. Bring a reusable cup when you get coffee or other special drinks, like at Starbucks or The Beanery.

  3. Recycle batteries at Staples.

  4. Recycle printer cartridges at Staples.

  5. Recycle shoes at DSW.

  6. Recycle plastic shopping bags at Target, along with cell phones and ink cartridges.

  7. Use the DC commuter bus out of the Hollywood Firehouse, bus 725, that leaves at 4am, 5am, or 6am:  https://www.marylandbuscompanies.com/commuter-services

  8. Use an electric candle lighter instead of a large lighter that is thrown out.

  9. Mow less to create wildflower spaces that you mow only in the fall.

  10. Clean up litter when you walk.
