We presently have 24 weekend lectors at St. John's. Several have lectored for 25 years or more - here or in previous parishes. Most have attended lector training workshops, here or in neighboring parishes. Workbooks are provided by St. John's for the liturgical year beginning with the first Sunday of Advent. When possible, Mass preferences are accommodated. The lector schedule is prepared bi-monthly. A copy is posted in the sacristy, where hard copies are available. Schedules may also be provided via e-mail. It is the responsibility of the individual lector to obtain a copy of the schedule and arrange for a substitute if unable to keep an assignment. Lector rosters with phone numbers are issued quarterly.
