This is a ministry of lay men and women who are trained by the Archdiocesan Office for Worship after being approved by the pastor and appointed by the Archbishop to serve an initial 3-year term of service. Eucharistic ministers help with the distribution of Holy Communion and the Precious Blood at daily and weekend Masses. Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion show the greatest reverence for the Most Holy Eucharist by their demeanor, their attire, and the manner in which they handle the consecrated bread and wine.
We are assigned to weekend Masses based on a 10-week schedule and have separate schedules for Holy days and week days.
We communicate via e-mail and/or phone. A representative attends the Liturgy Committee meetings to gather any information that needs to be passed to our EMsHC who serve at Mass.
