The Archdiocese of Washington encourages participation in the Maryland Catholic Advocacy Network, an e-mail service that provides a simple and quick way to communicate with our elected officials.

Parishioners involved with this ministry:

* Advocate voter registration, facilitating voter registration drives at parishes throughout Southern Maryland,

* Respond to Action Alerts sent by the Bishops and Archbishops of Baltimore, Washington and Wilmington, by calling or writing to elected officials at the national and state level to make sure they understand our Catholic viewpoint,

* Facilitate letter-writing campaigns as they become necessary,

* Participate annually in Lobby Night in Annapolis, meeting face-to-face with our state senator and three delegates from our District to express our views and to promote the legislative issues of the Maryland Catholic Conference.
