Take A Priest To Breakfast

Back to Knights of Columbus

2008

(l – r) DGK Bill Reabe, Fr Eamon Dignan, Fr Ray Schmidt, Seminarian Charlie Gallagher, Carrollton Reese, Bouncer Clarke, Orlan Cowan, Bill Sneeringer, Deacon Lou Koeniger and Spurgeon Terry

After attending 8:00 AM Mass at St. John Francis Regis SJ Church in Hollywood MD, members of Council #7914 took retired priest-in-residence, Father Eamon Dignon; Pastor and Council Chaplain, Father Ray Schmidt; Associate Chaplain, Deacon Lou Koeniger; and Seminarian Charlie Gallagher to breakast. A good time and a great breakfast was enjoyed by all!

In a twist on our regular "Take a Priest to Breakfast" program, a group of Knights from Council #7914 attended 8:00 AM Mass at St. Peter's Church in Waldorf MD on Monday, July 30, 2007. After Mass, we took former St. John's Associate Pastor Father Martin Flum and Seminarian Vincent de Rosa (whom the council sponsors) to breakfast.

Vinny is working at St. Peter's for the summer. He will be ordained a deacon in October 2007 and a priest in the Spring of 2008.

We enjoyed our visit with Fr Flum and Vinny and a great breakfast!

2006

(l – r) GK Jerry Hicks, Bill Sneeringer, Carrollton Reese, Ray Dicus, Bouncer Clarke and Fr Eamon Dignan

After attending 8:00 AM Mass at St. John Francis Regis SJ Church in Hollywood MD, members of Council #7914 took our retired priest-in-residence, Father Eamon Dignan, to breakfast at Linda's Cafe in Leonardtown. (Pastor and Council Chaplain, Father Ray Schmidt, and Associate Chaplain, Deacon Lou Koeniger, would normally participate in this event, but their services were required elsewhere.) Fr Dignan regaled the group with tales of growing up poor in Ireland (and not knowing he was poor). A good time and a great breakfast was enjoyed by all!
