The St. John’s Bible Study Ministry invites all parishioners to join our group and grow a deeper understanding of the teachings of the Bible. St. Jerome said about 375 AD, “Ignorance of the scriptures is ignorance of Christ.” For this reason, we will continue to study selected Books of the Old Testament and New Testament and constantly research these passages to get a deeper insight of God’s Word. We also review selected readings when the Pope announces a special year in honor of a saint of Church function. For example, we read all of Paul’s writings during the “Year of St. Paul,” and discussed their relevance to our lives. During the “Year of the Priest,” we showed how the priesthood became an integral part of the Jewish religion, reached perfection through Jesus the High priest, and continues, as He commanded, through our Catholic priests. We will continue to explore other interesting and informative scriptural passages to enhance our Biblical knowledge to deepen our faith.
St. John's Bible Study Group meets Monday evenings at 7:00 in the St. Jude room of the Monsignor Harris Center.
